For an Irish connection, Teagan can be traced through surname forms such as Teegan, linked with Ó Tadhgáin, descendant of Tadhgán. Tadhgán is a little form of Tadhg, meaning poet. The similar Welsh name Tegan has a different origin, so I’m celebrating the Irish connection here!
